This Privacy Policy explains how Polyglot ("Polyglot," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and apps (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

• Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile details they share with us (such as your name).
• Learning activity: your chosen language, which videos you have watched, sentences and words you save, flashcard progress, and your daily streak.
• Onboarding answers: your quiz answers are stored in your browser. We save only your chosen language to your account.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS). We never see or store your full card number; we keep only a customer ID and your subscription status.
• Technical information: basic log data such as IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically by our hosting providers.

• To provide the Service, including your personalized video feed and flashcards.
• To process subscriptions, payments, and free trials.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To respond to your requests and send important account or billing messages.
• To understand and improve how the Service works.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember your onboarding answers and preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service:

• Supabase for accounts and data storage
• Vercel for website hosting
• Mux for video streaming
• Stripe and Apple for payments
• Google and Apple for sign-in, if you choose them

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.

Polyglot Kids accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — we never ask for a child's name, photo, location, or contact details. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@trypolyglot.com and we will delete it.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page, which permanently erases your account data. We may keep limited records (such as payment records) where the law requires it.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, email support@trypolyglot.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed there or wherever our service providers operate.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above; for significant changes, we will notify you by email or in the app.
